  • Sara Nominated for CMA Female Vocalist of the Year
  • - 08/30
    Today on Good Morning America, Brad Paisley and Jennifer Nettles announced the nominees for the 2006 CMA Awards. Once again, Sara has been selected as a nominee for Female Vocalist of the Year. Other nominees in the category are Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, and Gretchen Wilson. If Sara wins, she will be recognized as Top Female by both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. The 40th Annual CMA Awards airs Monday, Nov. 6 on ABC Television, starting at 7/8c, live from Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville.

  • Jeff Foxworthy & Sara Team Up for Laughs
  • - 08/18
    Comedian Jeff Foxworthy stars in a new CMT sketch comedy series, Foxworthy's Big Night Out, premiering Sept. 1 from 8:30-9:00pm ET/PT. Each week a different country artist will join him for a mix of comedy and live musical performances, taped in front of a studio audience in Atlanta’s Alliance Theater. Sara will try out her comedic skills in the second episode, set to air on Sept. 8. Sara will also perform her current radio single, "You’ll Always Be My Baby."

  • Sara to Compete on ABC's Dancing with the Stars
  • - 08/14
    Earlier this morning, it was announced on Good Morning America that Sara has been chosen for ABC's hit show Dancing with the Stars when it resumes this Fall. Sara is the first country artist to participate in the dance competition, which features live choreographed ballroom dance routines with professional dance partners. Tony Dovolani will partner with Sara as they, along with ten other couples, are judged by an expert panel and viewing public, with results announced each Wednesday. The Fall season premieres Tuesday, September 12 from 8-10pm ET on ABC.



  • Sara Announced as Host of EDCT Fashion Show
  • - 08/09
    The Eating Disorders Coalition of Tennessee (EDCT) has asked Sara to host the upcoming charity event "Fashion For Every Body," a one-of-a-kind evening featuring a fashion show, silent auction, and intimate performance. The event will be held at Nashville's Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday, September 17th at 6:00pm. Tickets are available beginning August 11 through Ticketmaster.

  • Shooting for New Music Video Wraps Up

    While taking a break from her usual hectic touring schedule, Sara recently shot the video for her new single "You’ll Always Be My Baby" near Los Angeles. Kristin Barlowe, of Taillight TV, directed the music video. This is Sara's third video from her Real Fine Place project.

  • Sara Records with Pianist Jim Brickman
  • - 08/08
    Pianist/producer/composer Jim Brickman will soon release his new CD, Escape, a collection of new solo piano and pop vocal compositions, and which features a special appearance by Sara, among other artists such as Gerald Levert and Marc Antoine. One of the singles being released to Adult Contemporary radio will be "Never Alone" featuring Sara on vocals with lyrics and music by Victoria Shaw and produced by Dan Shea, the musical genius behind Brickman's chart-topping single, "Valentine" (featuring Martina McBride). Jim Brickman's Escape, produced by SLG Records, arrives in stores October 3rd.

  • Sara Participates in Star-Studded JCPenney Jam

    Two days after the CMA Music Festival, Sara flew to Los Angeles to join forces with Dr. Phil and music superstars from a variety of genres in "JCPenney Jam...The Concert for America's Kids." The concert seeks to raise awareness of the need for access to quality afterschool programs. Watch for the upcoming CBS Special August 22, and the soon-to-be-released DVD/CD combo package, available exclusively at JCPenney.

  • "Always Be My Baby" Tabbed as Next Single

    After the disappointing finish of "Coalmine" on the country charts, "You'll Always Be My Baby" has been designated as Sara's next single. This marks the fourth single released to radio from her current album Real Fine Place. Unofficial reports have the radio add date as being August 21.

  • Sara Enjoys Six-Weeks of R&R Before Launching New Tour

    After nearly two years on the road with Brad Paisley, Sara wrapped up the tour last month with an appearance in Darien Lake, NY, which included a special send-off by Brad, complete with many on-stage pranks and surprise images on the video wall. Now Sara is relaxing at her Oregon home before hitting the road again later this month. After nearly a year and a half of touring nonstop, Sara says that she wants to give her kids "a break from the bus and give them a real summer."

  • Relive CMA Music Festival on Network Primetime Special

    Watch for Sara tonight (9pm ET) on ABC Television's "CMA Music Festival: Country Music's Biggest Party," a two-hour network primetime special filmed at last month's CMA Music Fest in Nashville. The program will not only feature Sara's on-stage performance at the Coliseum, but will also feature Amherst, NY resident Sean Marks, with the help of Sara, choosing an engagement ring and proposing to his girlfriend Kristen Wright in front of 50,000 fans.

  • Sara Helps 3 Doors Down at Club Gig
  • - 06/20
    Sara took the stage tonight in a surprise appearance with 3 Doors Down as they performed a rare club gig at Nashville's Exit In. The Mississippi-based rock band scheduled the club appearance to prepare for an upcoming tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd. Sara met the band recently when they both performed at a charity concert in Los Angeles, and proudly reveals that she is a fan of the group and their song "Here Without You," which she sang with them at the charity event.

  • Sara Draws Hundreds to Her FC Party
  • - 06/09
    Sara hosts one of the CMA Music Festival's biggest Fan Club parties, drawing more than 600 fans to Nashville's Rocketown. While there, fans could bid on and buy rare memorabilia, with proceeds going to the Sara Evans Fund, which benefits worthwhile causes such as the National Eating Disorders Association. An estimated $3,500 was raised for the foundation.

  • Cracker Barrel Congratulates Sara on ACM Win

    Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. believes the popularity of its exclusive music label will increase following Sara's selection as Female Vocalist of the Year last week by the Academy of Country Music. Cracker Barrel currently sells Feels Like Home, a 12-song compilation CD of Sara's music, for a retail price of $11.99. Highlights of the album include an acoustic rendition of "No Place That Far" and a live version of "Born to Fly", recorded in Morgantown, WV during the 2004 tour.

  • Good Morning America to Feature Sara During CMA Week

    On Thursday, June 8 Good Morning America will be reporting live from Nashville with a segment about the CMA Music Festival. Feature correspondent Mike Barz will be on location at Rippy's Smokin' Bar & Grill on Broadway in downtown Nashville, and is scheduled to be joined by Sara, Billy Currington, and Josh Turner. GMA airs live 7:00-9:00 AM/ET daily on the ABC Television Network.

  • Sara Evans: 2006 ACM Top Female Vocalist
  • - 05/23
    Tonight in Las Vegas, before a national television audience, The Academy of Country Music announced Sara as its Top Female Vocalist! This is Sara's first Top Female award, and also her first ACM trophy. She beat out Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, and Lee Ann Womack. Prior to tonight, Sara's most prominent honors were the 2001 CMA Award for Video of the Year, and the distinction of being Billboard's Most-Played Female Country Artist of 2004. This is easily the crowning achievement of Sara's career thus far. As stated by Sara upon receiving the award, it's something she's been waiting for her whole life.

    Upon receiving the award, Sara gave the following acceptance speech:

    "Oh, my gosh! Thank you so much. I just want to thank God for all the blessings in my life, my husband Craig...the fans, my mom and dad, all my brothers and sisters. I've waited for this my whole life. Thank you, God bless you."

  • Carrie Underwood Gives Sara the Nod

    In the current issue of Girls' Life Magazine, Carrie Underwood states that she expects Sara to win Top Female Vocalist at tonight's ACM Awards -- a category in which she is nominated herself. Of Sara, Carrie said that "she seems so nice, and she deserves it." Sara talked about the award on this week's CMT Insider, saying that if she won, she would "really, really break down & cry & make a fool out of (herself)."

  • Sara to Perform at 41st Annual ACM Awards

  • Sara Lends Her Voice to Mandrell Tribute Album
  • - 05/11
    Sara, along with several other contemporary country artists, will participate in a tribute album to Barbara Mandrell, who had 28 top 10 country singles during the '70s and '80s. She Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool: A Tribute to Barbara Mandrell features remakes of such hits as "Sleeping Single in a Double Bed" (sung by Terri Clark), "In Times Like These" (Brad Paisley), and "Crackers" (sung by Sara). The album is due out in stores October 10.

  • Sara Helps Raise Support for Two Non-Profit Organizations

    Sara will join many other top country artists in attendance at the 7th Annual Best Cellars Dinner on tonight (05/01) at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. The dinner benefits the T.J. Martell Foundation. Tickets are $800 each and include the opportunity to be seated at a table with a chart-topping artist and wine host. Sara is also working with the LAByrinth Theater Company, a non-profit theater in NY, by contributing to their "Celebrity Attic" online fundraising auction event. A signed Texas Rangers jersey bearing the name "Evans" will be up for sale on Ebay from May 5-15.

    Sara has partnered with Hallmark Gold Crown stores to release Always There, an exclusive CD for Mother's Day, which contains new tracks "You Ought to Know by Now" and "Brooklyn & Austin".   • Portion of Proceeds from "Coalmine" Donated to WV Families

    Sara is joining forces with her record label as well as associated songwriters and publishers to donate a portion of the proceeds of her next single "Coalmine" to a life needs/education fund for the families of the Sago mine disaster in West Virginia.   • Sara to Announce Headlining Tour!
  • - 03/28
    This week on CMT's Top 20 Countdown, Sara will be counting down the top videos alongside host Lance Smith. During the show, Sara is expected to reveal that she will headline her own tour this Fall. In the meantime, Sara continues her tour with Brad Paisley, as well as doing a string of Canadian dates throughout April with Brooks & Dunn.

  • Hallmark Releases Exclusive Album

    Sara has teamed up with Hallmark Gold Crown stores to celebrate motherhood with the release of a new album titled Always There. In preparation for Mother's Day, it is scheduled for an official street date of April 17. The project is designed to be "a musical love letter to all the moms who love unconditionally," Sara said. Highlights include an acoustic version of "Born to Fly," and two newly recorded songs, "You Oughta Know By Now" and "Brooklyn and Austin."

  • Nashville Star Adds Sara to Celebrity Lineup

    Sara has been invited back to appear as a guest celebrity on Nashville Star, the nation's top-rated country music series. The hit talent search is in its fourth season, airing Tuesdays at 10:00 PM ET/9:00 PM CT on the USA Network. Viewers of episode four (April 4) will be treated to an opening performance by Sara.

  • Sara Advances to Final Round of CMT Awards

    First-round voting for the 2006 CMT Music Awards is now complete, and Sara has been named a finalist! She is nominated in the category of Female Video of the Year for "A Real Fine Place To Start". Fans have another chance to cast their vote in this final round by visiting CMT.com. The live broadcast of the awards ceremony is set to premiere April 10 on CMT.

Sara is nominated in two categories: Female Video of the Year & Hottest Video of the Year, both for "A Real Fine Place To Start". First-round voting is open through Thursday, March 9.   • Sara Becomes Ambassador for NEDA
  • - 03/01
    Sara has become an official ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA). Although Sara says she has never suffered from an eating disorder, she revealed that her passion for this cause is personal because she almost lost her best friend to anorexia. NEDA, headquartered in Seattle, WA, is the largest not-for-profit organization in the country dedicated to supporting research for the prevention, treatment and cure of eating disorders.

    Radio & Records has released its Readers' Poll 2006, and Sara is one of its winners, earning Female Vocalist of the Year honors! R&R toasts Sara by stating that she "is poised to take the reins as country’s top female artist."

  • "Coalmine" Likey to Be Next Single

    On a tour stop in Huntington, WV last night, Sara told a nearly sell-out crowd at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena that "Coalmine" will likely be the next single released to radio. Also her current single, "Cheatin'", is quickly approaching the Top 10.

  • Sara Cancels Performance Due to Illness
  • - 02/16
    For the first time in her career, Sara was forced to cancel a scheduled performance due to an illness. This past Thursday, Feb. 9, Sara came down with a case of strep throat, and, following her doctor's orders, bowed out of her spot on Brad Paisley's tour stop in Manchester, NH. Sara was also limited to singing only a couple of songs in Morgantown. Here's to wishing Sara a speedy recovery!

  • Tour Plays Host to Families of Fallen Sago Miners
  • - 02/15
    Sara, along with her tourmate Brad Paisley, hosted families of the fallen Sago miners at a sell-out show in Morgantown, WV. The families were given tickets to the concert, transportation, hotel rooms and a special dinner before the show where Sara & Brad met with each family individually. As a gesture of sensitivity, Sara asked the miners' families to be the litmus test for the radio release of "Coalmine". According to Sara, "They totally gave their stamp of approval."

  • Sara Sworn in as Member of President's Council

    President George W. Bush has officially named Sara as one of 21 new members of the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation. The Council brings together leaders from the worlds of business, entertainment, sports, education, government, nonprofits, & the media to promote and recognize outstanding volunteer service and to raise awareness of the many ways in which Americans can help meet the vital needs of their communities.

  • Sara Featured on John Rich's Solo Album
  • - 01/14
    John Rich, formerly of Lonestar and current member of the country duo Big & Rich, will be releasing a long-shelved solo album on March 14, titled Underneath the Same Moon. The project features an appearance by Sara on the bluegrass-leaning "Old Blue Mountain", as well as collaborations with current musical partner Big Kenny, the Fairfield Four, and Delbert McClinton.

  • Tour with Brad Paisley Picks up in 2006
  • - 12/12
    Sara and Brad Paisley will continue to be tourmates as the highly successful "Time Well Wasted" Tour rolls into 2006. Mercury recording artist Billy Currington will join them as the new opening act on the 17-date tour, which kicks off January 25 in Duluth, MN and continues through the beginning of April.

  • Sara to Guest Judge Songwriting Contest

    Sara is featured in the current issue of USA Weekend (Dec. 2-4) as a guest judge for the 2006 USA Weekend Songwriting Contest for Teens sponsored by Billboard Magazine. Sara represents the country music genre and joins fellow artists including singer-songwriter Alicia Keys, rapper Bow Wow, reggae artist Damian Marley and alternative rockers Hoobastank to judge this year’s contest.

    According to Billboard.com, Sara's current album Real Fine Place has already achieved Gold status, less than two months after its release date! The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certifies albums as Gold for a net shipment of 500,000 albums.

  • Sara Releases Exclusive CD Through Cracker Barrel

    Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. has partnered with Sara to be the exclusive retailer for a compilation CD of her music titled Feels Like Home. Set to be released on December 6, this release will be sold at over 534 Cracker Barrel locations in 41 states and at crackerbarrel.com. The exclusive CD will include a previously unreleased live version of "Born to Fly" and a previously unreleased acoustic version of "No Place That Far." Also included is a bonus fold-out (14" x 18") poster.

  • "Cheatin'" Blazes Up the Charts
  • - 11/29
    After only five weeks on the charts, Sara's current single "Cheatin'" is #27 on Billboard and #31 on R&R, making "Cheatin'" the fastest rising single of her career! At the rate her singles have been moving up the charts to become hits, RCA head Joe Galante indicated last week that a best-of set is in the works for Sara's music. Galante also said that the next step following a Greatest Hits collection is a headlining tour.

  • Sara to Appear on The Tony Danza Show
  • - 11/27
    While on a tour stop at the Nokia Theatre in New York City, Sara will be a guest on The Tony Danza Show. The one-hour talk show airs Wednesday, December 7 at 9am ET.

  • "Cheatin'" Gets Spins, Video Soon to Air
  • - 11/10
    Having only been charting for three weeks, Sara's current radio single, "Cheatin'" has already cracked the Top 40 on R&R. Sara will perform her single before a nationwide audience during next week's CMA Awards on CBS. Also, the music video for "Cheatin'" will premiere Thursday, November 17 on CMT.

  • Bluegrass Tribute to Sara In Stores Now

    A new 12-track instrumental project, Pickin' on Sara Evans: Bluegrass Tribute, is currently available at retailers such as Target and Wal-Mart. The album features bluegrass renditions of Sara's music, with songs such as "Born to Fly," "Suds in the Bucket," and "There's Only One." Also in stores, look for Sounds of the Season - The Country Collection from the NBC Holiday Collection series. This compilation includes Sara's 1999 recording of "O Come All Ye Faithful."

  • Foster & Ducas Lauded for Latest #1

    Well-wishers packed the lobby of Music Row's ASCAP building Wednesday (Nov. 2) to cheer Radney Foster and George Ducas for writing Sara's latest No. 1, "A Real Fine Place to Start." Sara was also on hand to add her voice to the cheering, and to run a gauntlet of TV crews and radio interviewers before the formal proceedings started. In addition to praising the writers, Sara also complimented Mark Bright, co-producer of RFP. Said Bright in return, "I'm more proud of my association with this record than anything I've ever done."

  • Sara to Sing Prior to the Dickies 500

    Tune in to NBC this Sunday (November 6) for a glimpse of Sara performing the national anthem during the Coca-Cola Zero Pre-Race Extravaganza leading into the Dickies 500. Sara will also have a chance to include some hits from her new album for the crowd of 200,000--quite possibly the largest crowd of her career. The Pre-Race Extravaganza is set to begin at 11:00am CST.

  • Video Shoot Complete for Next Single

    Coming off #1 videos on CMT for Perfect, Suds, & ARFPTS, Sara was home in Nashville yesterday (10/18) to shoot a music video for her next single "Cheatin'." She will be performing the song on Tuesday, November 15 at the 39th Annual CMA Awards at New York's Madison Square Garden. On the radio front, "Cheatin'" will officially be up for adds at the end of this month.

    More artists have been announced to sing at next month's CMA Awards, to be held in New York City. Sara is now officially on the list of performers added this week. Meanwhile, Sara continues her TV run, appearing on both Good Morning America and Hannity & Colmes today.

  • Real Fine Place Debuts at #1 on Country Charts

    After only one week of sales, Real Fine Place is already a quarter of the way to Gold status! The sales figures are in, with Sara's new album selling 125,725 copies, distinguishing it as the #1 seller on the country chart, and #3 among all genres on the Top 200! This easily represents a career-high week in sales for Sara, nearly tripling the sales of Restless during its debut week.

  • Sara Attends NY Fashion Week & Film Premiere

    Sara has attended two high-profile social events as of late. On September 11 & 12, she attended Fashion Week in New York City, mingling with celebrities like Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, & Brandy. Then a week later (Sept. 18), Sara attended the premiere of Elizabethtown in Franklin, TN, with actor Orlando Bloom, director Cameron Crowe, and a wide variety of music artists.

  • Sara Receives Two CMA Nominations

    The nominations for the 39th annual CMA Awards show are in, and Sara is in the running for Female Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year for her contribution to "New Again". Brad Paisley and Lee Ann Womack lead the pack this year with six nominations each. The CMA's will take place November 15 at Madison Square Garden.

  • Appearance on Good Morning America Scheduled for October

    Sara will celebrate the release of Real Fine Place with an appearance on ABC-TV’s Good Morning America on Tuesday, October 12. Her concert is part of the morning show’s "Women Rule!"

  • Sara Hosts Nashville Star in Rimes' Absence

    A broken blood vessel in one of her vocal cords, stemming from a severe case of viral bronchitis, has forced LeAnn Rimes to temporarily relinquish her hosting duties on Nashville Star. While Rimes is recovering, Sara will fill in as host of the national talent competition. When word broke that Sara was the fill-in host, The Tennessean dubbed Sara "a funny quick-on-her-feet type o' gal who has been a host for a CMT show or two."   • NASA Cosmonauts "Dig" Sara

    According to the Tennessean, when the international crew of Expedition 10 blasted off in October, they did so with a bunch of CDs, and it seems that Sara's music was represented in the mix. Apparently, crew members "really dig her stuff." So much so, in fact, that they called her this morning to tell her all about it. NASA Commander Leroy Chiao, who is fluent in Russian, translated for cosmonaut Salizhan Sharipov, a colonel in the Russian air force.

  • Sara to Perform at GOP National Convention!

    An invitation to perform at the upcoming Republican National Convention in New York City has been issued to Sara, along with other notable entertainers such as Dana Glover, the Gatlin Brothers, & Michael W. Smith. Sara has been asked by Vice President Dick Cheney to perform BTF just before the keynote address on Wednesday, September 1. The RNC kicks off on Monday, August 30.

    Sara will spend part of her Thanksgiving weekend with Fox TV and radio personality Sean Hannity as he thanks his fans at a special holiday party November 29 at New York’s famed Rainbow Room. Sara, who has appeared on Hannity’s television show, "Hannity and Colmes," three times, will perform a concert for his loyal radio audience during the festive event. While in New York, Sara will also stop by to visit the #1-rated cable morning news show, "Fox And Friends" (weekdays 6:00-8:00 am CST), where she will perform her current single.

    Both Sara and her sister Lesley Evans Lyons sing the praises of a simple, natural diet which they say anyone can "just jump right into."     After one week of sales, RCA has announced a #3 debut for Restless on the Billboard Country album chart and a Top 20 debut on the Top 200 pop chart. The first-week sales of 44,283 are Sara's best showing ever! This figure is almost double that of the debut numbers for the nearly-platinum selling, Born To Fly.
